British gothic metal pioneers Paradise Lost have announced the departure of drummer Guido Zima Montanarini after a two-year tenure. The band expressed gratitude for Zima's contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors.}
Zima joined Paradise Lost in March 2023, stepping in after the departure of Waltteri Väyrynen, who left to join Opeth. During his time with the band, Zima played a significant role in live performances, including the "The Devil Embraced" North American tour, and contributed to the re-recording of the band's classic album, Icon, released as Icon 30 in December 2023.
Despite this lineup change, Paradise Lost remains active and continues to engage with their fans. The band is preparing to release a new album, Ascension, slated for later this year. They have also announced the "Ascension Of Europe Tour 2025," with dates across various countries.
As of now, no replacement drummer has been announced. However, the band assures fans that all upcoming tour dates will proceed as scheduled, and they are looking forward to this new chapter in their journey.
Paradise Lost's current lineup includes Nick Holmes (vocals), Gregor Mackintosh (lead guitar), Aaron Aedy (rhythm guitar), and Stephen Edmondson (bass).
